Scott, Amundsen and Shackleton are modern day heroes who laid their lives on the line to reach the South Pole and explore the continent at the bottom of the World. I wanted to go their for more prosaic reasons – it was the The Last Continent I needed to complete my quest to have run a Marathon on all seven continents.

Connected by One Ocean
On February 1, 2019, I retired from GE after almost 30 years of service. In my farewell note titled “What am I running from?” to my colleagues of three decades I mused about what lay ahead of me.
Running is perhaps a metaphor for all the activities for which there was never enough time during my journey in technology…. To unleash my imagination, to choose health and to learn to think anew. To be inspired by the outdoors to write. It is an opportunity to climb new heights, to achieve new goals, and to reclaim that we are destined to do.
I had been planning my next act for a while… there were so many things that I wanted to accomplish while still of sound mind and body. I wanted to explore both the larger world and my inner self, and to push against self-imposed boundaries. My college mates from IIT Kanpur, my high school mates and my dear friends from Houston have shared their wisdom and generous counsel in person and overcome distance remotely through Whatsapp. I share my adventures with my family and friends knowing that we are tied together by one consciousness and literally connected by One Ocean
These are my chronicles. Thanks for joining me on this journey!
